Part of the 2 week vacation to NYC/NJ/PA which took us to Gettysburg, also found us at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC. I love this museum. My Aunt took me there many years ago when the King Tut exhibit was traveling around the world and I fell in love with it. This time I spend some extra time in the armor and weapons exhibit and took photos of everything I could. Some of the photos didn't come out clearly due to the glare so I didn't post them. Here is what did turn out and I hope you like them.
It may not be very clear but the hilt and guard are all individual sculpted people.
This was armor for a woman.
Great stuff, Victor. It is far too many decades since I have been to the Met - went there many times growing up, when we were less than a 60 minute train ride away!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! I need to make that a stop on my next NYC visit.
